Should we be buying Ssangyong pickups?

My brother bought one 3 months ago and loves it, says its very comfortable and nice to drive. No issues as yet.
Warranty is very comprehensive for the 7 years
They couldnt be that bad if ther willin to warranty it for that time years as standard. Ye wouldnt get that kinda warranty on tractors. Pullin a tri axle full o cattle/sheep for 150000 miles would near enough be wrecked by that stage

Edit: He says it handles trailer with 4 barren cows very well too
Yes uncle has a pickup and says the warranty is very good for full 7 years.

I would say that was good advice. I quite fancy the new Rexton, but I am guessing an 18-24 month old one will have lost at least £10k so at around early £20’s k with the balance of warranty I’d say it was a good buy. Sister in law has a 6 month old one with 4K miles done and it’s a grand thing. But heavy on the diesel though

Agree, my wife has a 2017 new shape Rexton, she averages 30mpg mixed driving and towing her nag around! Great bit of kit so far, we bought it for the warranty (bought 2 years old and still had 5 years left!) but it will be interesting to see how it fares in a few more years time.

Seen on ther website that ther musso pickup comes with 7 year 150000 mile warranty. Seem pretty temptin if your in the market for new pickup as ye could hardly go wrong
I tried one for a couple of days llast autumn whilst my Navara was in dock. From being very sceptical I was almost impressed with it overall. Well built with lots of whistles and bells and pretty capable towing. A bit thirsty but had only 900miles on it at the time so very tight. Ground clearance was a little lacking, chassis was galvanised from memory!
Price wise they are not the deaest or the cheapest but secondhand value would be the biggest concern, but certainly wouldn't throw stones at it.

How have you found servicing costs so far? I would be a high mileage user circa 30k so I wouldn’t get to 7 years!

The galvanised chassis would surely be major sellin point. Why are they not shoutin this from the rooftops cause thos would be 1 o the biggest problems with older pickups

I had a mate who was a director of a very large taxi firm. They didn’t half exploit the miscalculation that Scoda made with their warranty years ago. With a large number of cars too

The carrying 1t and towing 3.5t certainly puts the rest to shame. I thought they were bringing out a slightly longer one with a bigger bed.

I see it is a Korean maker owned by an Indian company, so truly international.
Personally I'm waiting for the Cybertruck!!
Just like Land Rover, owned by Tata and made all over the place, including China (although that might be Jag only). Ssanyong is owned by Tata's big rival Mahindra & Mahindra so they'd be some competition between them with M&M being keen to muscle in on the fancy jeep market in the west. As for the Cybertruck don't hold your breath, I've just been doing a little more research into EV's and honestly, they are a complete scam. You think depreciation is going to be bad news on a Ssangyong then wait until you try and sell a 10 year old Tesla with a fooked battery.
