Openreach brought fibre optic cabling overhead , half a mile from my house over a year ago . On the same line, half a mile past the house, they've laid fibre optics in the roadside verge. The section in between they haven't done because
A) the verge is too narrow to lay without closing the road
B) There's no existing overhead lines so, no poles to string the cabling from.
C) They haven't got round to contacting the landowner (me) about moleing it across the fields.
So unconnected cables are dangling from the poles, for another year.
Think the problem may be phone companies not farmers

Resolving Welsh road and transport ‘notspots’ needs new and innovative solutions.
Using public transport will become compulsory.
Farmers on the bus /train, returning from the farm store carrying potentially hazardous chemicals, must wear the appropriate warning label.
Farming Connect courses will be held to provide necessary certification.

Openreach are currently installing fibre through ducting at the end of our drive, along side the road.Contractor on the job said they were having trouble getting cable through the ducting the first time.I said to him I was not surprised,as it was put in when I used to go on the school bus by Mcniff and Curran.I'm 50 this year so it has certainly taken them long enough!
