Showing a texel ewe

I think I'll take a ewe and her lambs to our local show this year, what should I be doing with her in terms of tidying her up? I'm aware no trimming allowed but at end of may we won't have stated shearing anything yet, will she be the only once in full fleece?!

For a bit of fun at your local show I wouldn't worry about it but most serious show sheeps will be sheared on the 1st of January so that they've a nice tight fresh fleece by show season... (I'm talking generically not specific to any breed not sure what the text people do but most breeds do this...)

texels are not allowed to be bare shorn before 1st April for showing, most will have been stuffing their show ewe and have her clipped, but if its just a local and not too serious then take her as she is, wash face and legs, no trimming, I've had one or two out in front of me with badly grown hooves, can't stand right, and tails too short. check if the class is for a ewe having reared a lamb, or you might find your up against some fat old barren ewe, it does happen, one ewe that won several championships over a couple of yrs never had a lamb! If the judge is worth their salt the working ewe should get it.
