The result shows a massive win for the Lib Dems. You can glaze it in any other way. Tories have had a long time in government and what have they done in this time. Brexit has been a complete hash. Disastrous trade deals, scandal after scandal, back handers and lies. List goes on. You can't defend these actions.
Not defending them at all. What it does show, despite Lib Dem win, is not much support for other parties in this particular constituency and lack of support for PM. I don't suppose many people think the current govt is a success. Who would actually want to be PM??

The fact is we don't have a democracy and power is ultimately exercised by the elites and corporations; politicians are just pawns in the game.

At last, someone else has finally worked it out that our so-called democracy is an illusion.

But let us be very careful what we wish for; turf out all the bums from the seats of parliament and replace them with honest hardworking folk and the troops would be placed on the streets quicker than you can say democracy!

Mind you, Sodom and Gomorrah was destroyed for the want of a few good men!

Its a chance for someone with integrity and morals to stand up and show us how a prime minister should lead.
I think Rory Stewart could do a good job.

Not sure who should be feeling most ashamed and embarrassed, Conservatives for loosing a seat in which a donkey wearing a blue ribbon would normaly expect to win or Labours utter inability to attract voters against what was effectively a donkey wearing a blue ribbon standing waste deep in a pool of political shyt
Labour could have saved face by a prior statement that they would be party to a "Progressive alliance", but no, they seemed to think they had a chance.....

Some people just contradict themselves.
I think you are missing the point. If you haven't worked it out the Covid19 response is part of a WHO and World Economic Forum agenda. It has nothing to do with health; as Covid 19 is broadly similar to bad flu (and before anyone starts the statistics below confirm that and I'm married to a doctor who will tell you the same thing). All that was needed was focussed protection on the vulnerable and those with co-morbidites and the rest of us get on with our lives. The collateral damage is massive.

There is hardly any science behind any of the nonsense just knee jerk reactions and billions and billions pee'd up the wall and our childrens' futures ruined.

As I said peoiple need to feckin 'wake up'

If you haven't worked it out yet - it makes no difference.

Basically it's not those coming from France who are affecting people's lives it's those coming from Eton.

The fact is we don't have a democracy and power is ultimately exercised by the elites and corporations; politicians are just pawns in the game.

Most policy is made up on the hoof and is more about getting good feedback in YouGov polls than carefull long term planning and strategy.

Countries like China plan 40 or 50 years ahead laying out a vision (like the Belt and Road project which was adopted in 2013 with a completion date of 2049) meanwhile we spiral into economic oblivion with a society sat on their sofas, watching Netflix (and the propaganda) and our economic activity is mostly based around internet shopping and a chain of coffee shops.

Sometimes I just want to shake people by the scruff of the neck and shout 'wake up' but I think the lamentable response to Covid ( a disease which 99.9% of people naturally survive) has shown that it would be pointless. They are already zombies.
What ho and Viva la revolution comrade! How go things in the people's republic of Pontargothi...? Please tell us, when you write 'Countries like China...' is that leftist code for oppressive dictatorships?

Your contempt for the all but 1% of the country is what we've come to expect from you, and of course the un-righteous bast*rds deserve no less, so who can argue with it? I agree with your observation regarding this government - and other recent ones - having too much regard for opinion polls; I also agree that such things lead to relatively short-term plans and actions, but feel obliged to ask...

What are you doing to make things better? What have you done, what is your plan to share the light and enthuse the undeserving proletariat with your understanding and aims toward a better country?

I mean to say, it can't just be carping on a minor internet forum, venting leftist spleen to a few others who already and unchangeably agree / disagree or simply don't care, can it? 😐

If Boris can weather the storm until the new year the fun will really start, article 16 will be invoked hence why they are trying to get rid of him to stop it happening, that’s my prediction

If 60% of the constituents voted to leave and they‘ve elected a party that fought to remain, then it’s just a protest vote.

They could have voted for the ‘rejoin’ party.😂

I would hope the Lib Dems will have given up on that daft idea. We are out now, for better or worse, and time to get the politicians in place that can govern the country, and Blustering BoJo is not that, and never has been.
