How would you charge for trailed grass harvesting? Per acre? per hour? and keeping in mind varying grass yields and workrates?

What's your idea? Have you had the calculator out because your costs will be different to others.

This could start a little war ,are you talking complete job or just tractor and harvester

No a customer wants to do multiple cuts and wondered if it could be charged by hour but think it would be farer to charge per acre but less for smaller crops?

If your doing over x amount of acres then it's per hour, under and it's per acre, means it's fair either way

We do all our silage contracting by the hour other than mowing and raking which is by the acre. We think its fair and I havent had a customer ask to change the way we charge.

I have a customer who mowed and rakes his own and we charge by the hour cos it's light ,I have a couple of organic lads where I charge separate for mowing and raking and I charge them by the load for the rest
