For most of us with little grass growth silage cutting will be a long way off.
But I'm sure some will be going soon.
Anyone started?

I have some land resembling swamp but some land is dry enough. No grass though! Havn't even started fertilising yet. What they using a hovercraft?
When you’re that close to the equator it doesn’t count!Mowers going in South Devon today for silage!

Bloody hell. The grass hasn’t even started growing up here yet.
A few dairy farmers are just putting fert on around here today on ground that has had 2/3x lots of slurry over the winter, grass is nearly a foot tall in some of these fields, they would be better off cutting it and starting again imo.
We had a foot of snow at end of March. Some of these farms will cut end of March/ early April in a normal winter.
Using a Hover mower presumably...?
200hp Flymo wanted urgently.....
Farming where you do I find that hard to believe!my first cut is being taken at the moment, usually get the 2nd cut about 10th July
