That looks like it will make rocket fuel silage and a lovely green stubble.View attachment 680644 Had 16 men here at silage to keep 2 choppers going,
Fish supper bill was £113 alone!!!!!!
There’s three rakes in that pic the far away one is a 4 rotor! That looks like it will make rocket fuel silage and a lovely green stubble.
I am surprised the contractor doesn't have a four rotor rake, standard around here except for baling.Have seen a youtube vid of a six rotor working in the SW,@Beef farmer may know about it,would help reduce the fish supper bill!

How low do you all mow your stubble? Our regrowth has been quite slow this year and I am wondering if the mowing height can have anything to do with it. Or is it just the fact that it has been unseasonably hot and dry? Normally when the grass is lifted off the field the green is already coming through, but this time it took about 5 days to see it.
Your avatar is upside down. What that mean
Dont mow low on anything!
What would be the recommended mowing height for grass? Around here the contractors all seem to mow it as tight as they can

What are the issues with cutting grass earlier than when the N is expected to be used up?
