Where are the turbines?
how long do most you guys like to leave it lying after being cut before you lift it?I know nobody wants wet silage but is it not better to get it in the pit than lie in the field for a day or 2 to dry out? Surely feed value drops all the time it is lying cut.

Depends on weather - range is probably 18 - 48Roughly how many hours will u let it lie for?
same here mowed some 2nd sunday night 8 pm picked up early mon morning, mowed some for 2nd cut hay on Saturday baling tomorrow, maybe not one of my wisest ever decisions, but it will be dryAll depends on the size of crop, the weather we did some 2nd cut at the heifer farm on Wednesday mowed in the morning chopped in the afternoon.
How many cuts have done so farChopping straight behind the mower AND it is still like hay. Can't roll it in the clamp and the wholecrop is ripening at an alarming pace. At least 2-3 weeks ahead of itself.
Saving on fuel for the tedder & additive though ......... and probably fert as there is little point getting out there and no end in sight yet to this glorious weather
