For a person who states he buys no straw and sells nothing either I cannot quite understand your fascination with this thread.
We had farmers telling us last year that it was cheaper to buy Haylage/silage from their neighbours than to make it. This year these people have no fodder!Hay was far to cheap last winter which caused the same old problem .no one thought it was worth baling, added with that the weather played its part

What does that tell you other than demand is high?I passed 4 artics loaded with straw heading south on the M5 this morn, all within 20 miles of each other and different merchants.
