Well it’s twice the price it’s worth so you’ll be alright

The three customers (who grow barley)I spray for have all finished W Barley and all three have normal if not more straw than usual although they all said its brittle. Seems 7.5 t / ha of grain average.
OSR being cut now,one finished , 2.85 t / ha over weighbridge,7% moisture. As others said, plenty of seed but small in size.

3t grain £480 2 ton straw£200 = £680 less combining in a sellers market cant be far off, heard similar at the weekend

Heard talk about a week ago of around £600/ac.

Don't know about barley but wc wheat has been selling for well over £700 per acre down here.

Im not buying im planning on maybe selling some next year. I would have sold this years crop but think i might need it myself after the light crop of hay we had

It would have to go off field or i could bale it. Dont have a pit unfortunatly

Blimey, that would save a lot of hassle harvesting, storing and selling. Could do with a few dairy herds and AD plants round here!

So does it cost £600/ acre to grow?
Assuming they’d be happy with £100/ acre profit plus sub.
Think most round here would snap your hand off at that price or is it just due to current weather making grub short ?

Going for between £3 and £4 a bale collected off the field around here.
