How much are Norfolk/ Suffolk based straw power plants paying for barley hesstons this year?

You can never draw a conclusion on price. Old contract , new contract !, spot price when they are short . But I've said before , using the power station price as a guide is unfair for those who try to do so , unless you are in a position to send it there . They cant buy all the straw

trouble is the eastern counties farmers do just that

600 4 string 80x90 bales of lovely wheat and barley straw available too.

I would get some more cattle in but the sheds are full up......of fodder !!!

No cant say I have ever heard of them? Rarely ever sell anything but decided to not fill so many sheds with cattle this winter and hence the surplus.

Yes their our main hay supplier. We buy a lot from them yearly and have been dealing with them for 12 years. Their on fb if you search on there.

Are you looking for any square bales 4string , well wilted silage. Off new leys with red clover in the mix. I have 300 bales in north Shropshire .

I think the market will be saturated with silage this year unless this rain carries on to make a very long winter.
All you can do is ask though. He doesn’t do a huge amount of silage, mainly hay, straw and haylage.

Paul's a very decent bloke.
I've sold a lot of straw to him over the years, and am happy to vouch for him.

regular customer just been on the phone asking if we can deliver a load of straw this week as hes bringing his stock in ,that order is usually for just before xmas so if he comes back to us thats 2/3 extra loads as its usually 1/month till turnout , could be there wont be as much surplus /cheap straw as some think

I've not sold straw for years, anyone care to suggest an a fair price to charge a (good) neighbour for spring barley straw, 4 string bales, 80x90 8ft long. Collected off field..
