Some top grade stuff near Wincanton made £22 at Auction 2 weeks ago . Depends where you are but South of Midlands trade is dead
we are buyers, the organic hay never sold did I, was told he wanted last years price. Prices have to be sensible though, but the longer they refuse to sell, the greater the amount on the mkt. We are about 1 bale silage a day short, so we are in no hurry.

Yes, I had that trouble when I went to buy hay locally, they were looking for what they got that year. We started at 26/bale any got down to 15/bale after I showed him the prices in Farmers Guardian.

depends how many bales you use per day and for how long ?

Putting some quadrant hay in auction, what’s the best number of bales per lot? Weigh about 420kg was thinking 60 or 65 to make lorry and drag.
