I have surplus haylage for sale. Based near Harrogate, Yorkshire. Heston bales 1.2 x .09 good for cattle, horses or sheep. Baled july 2020 nice dry stuff. Anyone interested please ring 07901851799.

Hebridean type barns one answer, you build on a steep slope with the scraping passage as the lowest point, the muck then works its way to the lowest point negating the need to straw up. Bedding up with hay, which I’ve done some years feels like sacralidge!

I agree it is. These years we just have to get through whichever way we can though. Probably more the principal of the matter then the money

I put this in a little shed a week ago as a trial

not had to put anything else in there yet and the yearling bulls that are in there seem happy and clean

Only three, the bedded area is 14 by about 22 foot
We don't have any more that size that can go in with them
I thought that they would dig it all over the place but they don't
Not sure if it would be best to put some more on top or scrape whole lot out and start again when it gets dirty
Scrape out and start again. Putting more on top will work for a couple of weeks, but I find a clean start is best
