Depends on the baler but anything from 380 kg to 650 kg
Bales from the south will weigh far less than a english bale, anywhere between 250kg to 360kg over here
8x4x4 are only really popular about Louth and North Dublin they weigh around 400-430kg

Why oh why do there have too be 20 variations on the size of square bale?! It makes things so dammed complicated!! Why can’t we just have Heston, Mini Heston & Quadrant then I suppose we’d better keep conventional too too keep the old timers happy…

Bring back the old D1000 ....... best paying big square bale ever .....could deliver them to the horse people saying "it's a big square bale lots in it ". ..... now they still want .' the big square bale' but fail to see that it's now a bigger big square bale and they want to pay the same price !Why oh why do there have too be 20 variations on the size of square bale?! depends on qualty, bale type, location, order size.
But I want £100 per ton to farmer or dealer, £160 for horse box loads.

It is still July for gods sake!!
Harvest is far from a right off yet!
If we still have this weather in a months time and no dry spell in the next month then your comments above may be correct but not in July they are not!

You need to understand that a Devon arable farmers thinking is very different to a 4000 acre man up this way and beyond.
