And prime cattle should be £5/kg, but they won't.
Im not so sure, beef is short in europe now so i think those that keep cracking on filling sheds and fields with stock will hit the jackpot one morning . War will finish one day, fuel and feed will drop in price over night and those with plenty of stock will be in the driving seat over those that put the breaks on and have empty sheds and fields.

Bought a stack of silage last night for £15 a bale (160 bales) don't have to move it till I want to use it. Nice stuff, pleased with that .
That's about what I've been paying .Bought some 4'6" decent
enough hay (45 bales) last week for £15 a bale not far away either.
Not going to buy any fodder next time ,this past year the fodder prices
just added up for me.

Does anyone work out how much it cost to make a bale of hay.
not without a correct weather forecast.
just had a load of straw in, our man reckons it will be expensive this year, as farmers want to chop it, so ordered another load, which, with some of our own, should see us through next winter. And, he's filled his barns up now.
