Silage / Straw / Hay Price Tracker

Any knowledge of the cost of getting Straw to where livestock farms need it. Lets say 250 miles from me just north of London.
Still have a thousand 120*90 that average 520 Kgs. 120 odd Barley rest wheat. Would like to shift before its time to bale this harvests Straw, or like so many round here will engage the chopper. Don't really want to do that as its a resource I fear may be needed by some.
How much do you want for your straw that’s the question then the haulage can be worked out from there

Hoping for £30 a bale for Barley and £27.50 for Wheat.
@ £30 a ton haulage Ahhhhh. Had not quite appreciated haulage cost as that high and that's at 48 bales a load.
Will be more like £35 tonne if not £40 tonne haulage now.

Most lorry's hauling straw this way cannot now take the full amount of bales they could stack on the lorry as they cannot risk going overweight, Vosa/ Police especially are pulling a hell of a lot of them over now and putting them over the weighbridge, even pulling in tractor and trailer outfits hauling straw for their own use and finding excuses to book them, have told some they are not allowed to use tractors to haul straw!

Any idea what sort of money winter oat straw should be worth in the swath? Never grown it before, so unsure how it would compare to wheat straw in value.

I hope that was not your load of straw of J D pictured on FB a couple of says ago very stuck under a shell petrol stations roof @cattleman123 !

Load after load of straw on the move currently, more moving now than last harvest it seems like!
He wasnt stuck. He was just filling up with fuel and was close to the canopy

I hope that it’s fertilised for that!!🤣
Loads of grass there . Been nothing on it since grazed last Oct (by me ) .......not literally me but some tack sheep I had .

It belongs to a charity and last yr they paid me to make the hay and bale it thinking they were going to make a fortune but then couldn't sell it . Access is poor and they failed to sell it so I had the hay and then the grazing .

....every little helps !!
