I can't comment on Devon don't know the haulage rate but it confuses me that straw is often dearer there than Pembrokeshire

S0 £85 is about what the trade on farm should be and there isn't any reason to pay anymore at a auction!

Most hauliers don't seem to be able to get a load up from down here, they either run up empty and come back with straw or come down with straw and return empty.

I will say that the money made out of selling straw loads to farmers is next to nothing. It reminds me of farm contracting .everyone wants to do it so competion is strong .
Well the dealer makes a profit as do the hauliers and the suppling farmers. To the first two its a volume thing.
