I have been approached to sell my winter barley straw this year.I dont want to get teh max straw yield but would rather cut high and then allow the straw to be baled. I would need to charge a per bale rate for the straw rather than an area payment. Can anyone advise on a fair price? Thanks

Will depend on bale size. In a normal year £40/t they pay baling and any turning costs. But this year there is not much straw left on farm plus the dry weather things might be different. I'd wait till harvest to agree a price.

i would think barley would kick off £40 to £45 ton but who knows with this weather , still plenty of straw about despite what you may have heard, price has eased a little

Am understocked so selling grass ex field. One field is just improved grass no clover and the other is more meadow like.

What should I charge per bale if they do all the work?

Am in the South West.

sell by weight adjusted for moisture content only way to be fair to both parties as far too many variables otherwise

Does anyone have a current price on wheat and barley straw that can be expected per acre in the midlands? Had an offer for my straw but not up with the current prices
