Some members have baled enough to know the exact weight of a bale just by eyehave you weighed them?

There’s weight and weight when you can’t get the tines to pull out and when they do steam follows..... I’d rather they weren’t scale busters and I can use themSome members have baled enough to know the exact weight of a bale just by eye
Wish more did not think like that.I'm more concerned about next year , can I get my customers back ......
I can get plenty atm but I may kill them off with what they have to pay meCan't give them what I haven't got
I sold what I had at a slight increase on last years price , you have to look at the big pictureI can get plenty atm but I may kill them off with what they have to pay me
If I had run out and you were supplying one of my customers with say 20% of there straw requirements this year I would like to think they still used you for 20% next year, loyalty is a good thing, what if I was short the following year and had to say no again.I can get plenty atm but I may kill them off with what they have to pay me
We shift 2000 small bales most weeks . If I have to double the price I will be looked on as Mr Expensive especially by gossips who can't get any to sell , and some of these small holders may just get rid of their stock as to expesive to keepIf I had run out and you were supplying one of my customers with say 20% of there straw requirements this year I would like to think they still used you for 20% next year, loyalty is a good thing, what if I was short the following year and had to say no again.
Agree, but if you're not careful your just performing a service for no profit or with out gaining a new long term commitment. We shift 2000 small bales most weeks . We buy all that in so have no control over the price . I cant loose money on it
Well done Bob. Great attitude! Can't like that enough!I sold what I had at a slight increase on last years price , you have to look at the big picture
My 4 foot rounds av 275kg so was thinking at £25/bale or £90/t they wouldn't really be a leg lift? No. I buy squares by weight and rounds by the bale. I don’t use many rounds, only in some long narrow pens I have stirks in, they get a bale twice a week, the quality is more important than a few kilos either way. To be honest if they were super solid the extra straw would be wasted as there would too much for the pen. I also bought a heap of 100 first cut haylage, horse quality 120/90 by 5’6” for £30/bale to collect. Lovely smelling stuff, a lot better value for racks than straw imo
I knock some pressure off the baler .Well done Bob. Great attitude! Can't like that enough!
BUT if the straw job is on its ar$e next year I hope your customers remember your generosity this year.
No greater feeling than lifting a hay bale by the strings and the bale staying on the floor!I knock some pressure off the baler .
Have they got anymore to sell @ £25.75. Seems reasonable the way the job is atm. Square bales at Northallerton yesterday were unsold at I think £51Anyone who doesn’t like shocks please sit down because I have not one but TWO definite straw prices from this week. Inside stored 4” round bale winter barley straw delivered in today @£25.75/bale, up from previous loads @£20, at local mart (Northallerton) same statement but to collect yourself made £30/bale at auction so all in all I consider my leg lifted but not thoroughly rogered.
They won’t weigh that and wouldn’t want them to. At a guess 200kg, £127ish still in line, I have no problem with the merchant either, I just resent paying that much in generalMy 4 foot rounds av 275kg so was thinking at £25/bale or £90/t they wouldn't really be a leg lift?
