If he’s telling folks to order loads off him and saying he’s adding suppliers to his list but will look after his regular suppliers first I would assume it’s slowI read the advert as he's snowed under with offers of fooder to move so not slow at exactly.
I’m paying that and it will go upCould someone send some straw up to SW Scotland?
Been told there offering £80/t for spring barley straw in 8x4x3s. Up here in NE Scotland

This is true. My hay is travelling 25 miles. I’ve said it before, Cheshire is full of folk happy too just make fodder! At least 100 miles haulage to get decent English hay to West Wales on top of that , just saying , not sure how far West you are
Have a rethinkBad weather now doesnt really effect fodder trade as most people expect it and have made provision for it. Its rough autumns, late springs and drought summers that drive trade.
Bales don’t snuff it unless you forget to sell them!!This is true. My hay is travelling 25 miles. I’ve said it before, Cheshire is full of folk happy too just make fodder!
Why?Have a rethink
Our sheep feed can be quadrupled in a bad winter and it’s always dear and scarce when the weather turns sillyWhy?
I keep forgetting where some of you farm. Pay to fill bays in glutt years seeing as the risk of bad weather is so high in your areas. Take the stress and financial pain awayOur sheep feed can be quadrupled in a bad winter and it’s always dear and scarce when the weather turns silly
Not really got any spare storage at the moment for hay. Don’t really dare feed any hay to sheep now. As said earlier there’s plenty to be had as a rule only real bother is many don’t like parting with it until March when they think they will be stuck with it that’s all that makes it seem scarceI keep forgetting where some of you farm. Depends on baler average round straw out of fixed chamber wouldn’t be much over 220/240 kgsGetting straw delivered in per bale this winter. Roughly how many 4ft round wheat bales to the ton? Good solid bales. Would barley bales weigh heavier? I’m guessing 4x3 squares would be 500kg?
80x90 in new money.3 x 3 what balers that ?
The only rubbish in the sale today was the cheapest lot of silage that you brought, that was full of rushes! Now it’s on it’s way to Lampeter for Big money, look out forage trader customers!Reserves far to high on silage today at Rugby , £20 for Rubbish . I did get one lot for £13 , which is about where it's at , please no preaching , I don't mind paying for good stuff ,
Keener after straw but still struggling to get much over £60
