Was at Stirling for iodine, lmbs milk etc and both mccaskies & hasbro have wrap prices, both around 72£, l order some not getn it till last week in June, probably 100 a roll buy then. Told the girl l hope it's not 45 buy then.

Might be a smaller diameter bale than yours, plus maybe a turn less wrap.

Depends on the bale size as to how many you'll get per roll
Welgar (and McHale) chamber is wider than most, and their fixed chamber is about 4ft3 diameter.

The mathematics of that doesn't make sense to me

The way i see it, if you skimp on bale wrap, you will have more mouldy silage, with our hi speed mchale wrapper for 4 layers plus an extra revalution for wind etc its 9 turns, i get 25 bales approx out of one roll, my silage has been good this year with only a few part bales with mould on them. For a dryer crop in July onwards i normally go to 12 revolutions, i do encourage my customers to put the extra wrap on but it,s there choice at the end of the day. Better to spend an extra £1 or 2 than waste a whole bale.
