We’re feeding 50-55kg per head per day when lactating. Less for dry cows.
3500t should be around the right figure. £25-£40/t depending on how much cost you want to apportion and what the yields are like.

Less silage if using other forages alongside, have similar dry matter grass and maize and eating 40ish kg dry cow less than half (chopped straw) so if in theory milking 305d and dry 60 it would be around 14400kg plus 900kg so just over 15t a cow so 3000t or so. If its crap silage theyll eat a lot less :p

Just curious if Id have enough silage to up cow number to 200+ but would have to be housed all year round. I know obviously variables involved quality silage and other feed ie maize whole crop grains etc. Thanks
Always forage to be bought in if youve the facility.
