Silo Tyre Shooter

Does anyone in the UK manufacture tyre shooters for dispensing tyres onto silage clamps (as per link above) ? Or indeed has anyone made their own and would be willing to share their design?

After a long night covering our maize last night it got me thinking about how to speed the job up. We do 4 cuts of silage and 2or3 crops of wholecrop. Getting labour is not easy round here and anything that could make our job easier would be welcome!

I've always thought a fire hose would do the job well ,zig zagged from back to front with clamps on each side to side run would work well but never tried it ,if you get what I mean.,so let the water out as you use silage

We use a 3 cube bucket. Heap tyres on concrete so can scoop them up and tip them on as rolling back the sheet.

We normally use a telehandler and forks to lift tyre sidewalls over the wall which is grand but the Merlo resides at another yard most of the time and it's a slow round trip to go and get it. We've a Volvo loading shovel in the yard we clamp the silage but it doesn't have the reach to get over the walls which are 4m high with a safety rail on top taking them up towards 5m.

The biggest pit is 54m x 19m wide and the Merlo only has the reach to tip the sidewalls over the safety rail. Sidewalls then have to be carried across the pit.

Its a good enough set up when there's plenty of labour but can be slow when we're short on helpers...and we were the other night. We generally end up covering the pit at night so anything to speed the job up would be great! The capability of the tyre shooter to fire the tyres up onto the middle of the pit and also fit on the Volvo would be attractive.
