Yes it’s become very popular throughout the country and keeps people playing into their 60/70s and beyond .
lots of teams and tournaments that are very competitive . On our weekly sessions we do play a bit more than walking, more like 3 touch 5 aside , but in proper games the refs can be quite strict .

Bit like joining a cycling club then , we have groups for all ages and abilities, but thanks yes will have a look

Walking rugby at Chew Valley Rugby club, oldest participant 80+ and the former landlady of the Bear and Swan Chew Magna. Funny thing is she would have thrown at least three of her fellow participants out of her pub 45 years ago!

Got a retired Dairy farmer friend who is very keen on walking footie. Mentioned that some teams have ex-pro's playing for them in competitions! He also mentioned the need for good Refs...

Who does he play for ?
we have mini tournaments against local teams . Do also play in national cups against teams that definitely have ex pros playing . We’ve played against Birmingham and a West Brom team recently

We have played them a few times . My friend ended up with broken ribs after a 16 stone Drayton player tripped over the ball and landed on top of him .
