Sowing somethung or just playing?Having a play with the new toy early this morning before the rain.
Really quite pleased how it is travelling through this old permanent pasture.

Let us know how it turns outSowing some Oliver seed over seeding mix into a 2.5 acre part of field which was an old small paddock but is now run with a 15 acre block.
It had 2 tonne to the acre of lime 2 months back as ph was low and has not been reseeded in 40 years.
One of those awkward little pieces which gets left till next year always as too much bother.
It will be really interesting to monitor how it changes as it really has been desperately underperforming recently.
Found the drill really handy to just nip in there for an hour and get the seed in.
Only worry is temperatures may be a bit sluggish in the next week or two to promote a good germination.
Will just have to wait and see.
That was the thing I really appreciated about having an Aitchison DD on a farm, you could just put it on, dial it up and do a little renovation, put the shutters across and cover it up again... getting a bit envious of you guys with these shiny new drills though.....Sowing some Oliver seed over seeding mix into a 2.5 acre part of field which was an old small paddock but is now run with a 15 acre block.

Could you grab a closeup of the shoe at some stage - the one I had the pleasure of knowing was a Grassfarmer one, with the wheels out the side.. just nosey to see the differences (as there will likely be a few tweaks since then, that was going on 7 years ago now).
Good stuff!
I’d eyed them through with the tines so they were a tad lower however as the field was a bit of a hump I’d lessened the depth as I was concerned it was sowing a bit deep.Try deepening your discs slightly @Yale [emoji106]
So,I found it easier to go across the bank than up and down,is that what you tend to do?Yes I could see that after always a bit tricky on undulating ground
Seen a hydraulic top link used left on float

Do you roll it after drilling this time of year? Planning on slug pellets?
Won’t roll it.
Might put some slug traps out in next day or two.Slate with pellets under it.
