November 2018 reply to a letter to a Conservative Party MP. Just found it when I was looking for something else.

Martin, yes, LBP can be a bit tiresome, but all it needs is for one of the pro Brexit posters on here to put up good news stories from the Newspapers of EU 27 based companies relocating to the UK. I am sure no two months in there will be several stories of reciprocal situation where an EU based company has felt compelled to relocate part or all its operation to UK, to save its business. And also of EU based companies that after the Brexit vote invested in UK to retain access to the 65million UK consumers. I am surprised to be frank the dozen (imperial measurement) or so folk on here have not been busy. To busy on other jobs I presume.
I get plenty of news stories about the misfortunes of the EU popping up but I'm not getting into all that tit for that nonsense, they may be true or false, the same as his but on the whole we have moved on, it's yesterday's news. I'm just surprised it's still so important over the water.

Why just the EU? Sunderland was supposed to be a disaster waiting to happen but project fear got it all wrong.

Nick Boles = history

I have never voted for him in a constituency election. But I recall he represented a Political Party. If memory serves me it was the Conservative Party. So as a constituent I presumed when he wrote to me in 2018 the statements he made represented that Political Party, which happened to be then the party of government. Just thought it an interesting aside to the thread - bit like Antiques Roadshow. And shows the depths the Conservative and Brexit Party has sunk to under Johnsons leadership. All great fun.

Remember when Brexiteers started sharing all the wonderful Brexit good news stories about the positive effects on the UK? Trade? Travel? Boost to the economy? International relations? Etc. Etc. Etc.
No?
Me neither!

But Digby the biggest gob in the world Jones said "not one job will be lost"
I'm sure you're one of many that would like to pretend everything in the garden's rosy. It's not!
The garden is never rosy. I’ll admit the one downside of Brexit is trade and movement but you overlook the UK’s long standing scepticism over all things EU. Whether our Brit predecessors promoted the common market and more, things started to go in a Brexit direction after Maastricht. I’m not ranting about sovereignty as many suggest Brexiteers support, but being able to have folk we can elect every 4 years max to run the ship is an good thing. Their is an argument that EU grants are in part to blame for many UK manufacturing jobs to be lost to Eastern EU countries. For me immigration wasn’t an issue at the referendum as I voted on balance to remain believing we could bring about change and arrest the EU United States. In hindsight that is a folly as successive UK PM’s were packed off back to Westminster with no influence. As I stated many times I see myself as an English person in Europe and still do but I don’t want to be governed 100% and controlled in most matters by Brussels.

Fair enough Martin. But by voting in the likes of Farage, who only showed up for the first meeting to enrol for the pay, you couldn't influence decisions!
Decisions are made by those that show up! ( He missed 42 out of 43 fisheries committee)
You were never controlled that much by Bruxelles! The civil servants and those that pointed you in the right direction did that! Red Tractor anyone?!
