Siromer tractors mini tractor

I got a 2201 and its been faultless in the 20 years we had it.still leak free and only ever needed a rev counter cable that i got hold of easily
Nick...
I got the same model & find it's a great little toy. Suppriced me how 25hp or so can pull so well. Mines a grey import but luckily I was aware of the problems you can have with them such as wrong way PTO & getting spares but so long as you do your homework you should be fine. I joined a forum orange tractor talk. Only deals with Kubota's. Verry helpfull once you get to understand the yanks language etc & the various abriviations they use. Check it out as it may help.

All joking aside, I'll bet the Siromer is a good little tractor if kept correctly. There is a lot of bang for the buck.

I've had one for about 8 years just for mucking out a couple of low buildings. It has quite a hard life but apart from the numerous hydraulic oil leaks and rubbish grease nipples it's been fine. I wouldn't recommend the backactor it has a mind of it's own.

I just read what stugordon321 has said about me what a load of rubbish
I have nothing to do with Siromer I run a business on the South Coast
I am surprised a how everyone on this forum was knocking Siromer when my experience of them is completely different
May I remind you most of the stuff we buy comes from China so why not tractors they may not be everyone cup of tea but what I am saying if you like them fine if you don't that's fine as well
But I do object to what stupordon321 said about me and his foul language l think it time he grew up

Genuine proud Siromer owner here too, I wouldn't say I stumbled across this thread, i found it when I was researching my new loader and thought I'd share my experience. There's no need for stugordon321 to get all teasy about it, everyone's entitled to their opinion. Hope you enjoy your Siromer for as long as I have Rob Desty. Anyone's welcome to get intouch with me directly to discuss my Siromer tractor and experience.

When I was looking at buying a compact I looked into a lot of makes & models. Some were better than others obviously. In the end I went for a old L series Kubota. It's about the size of a grey fergie or Dexta. So far it's been spot on. It cost £2k but from all the looking on various places I know I made the right choose. They hold there price well, they are well built & the spare back up is there. Albeit parts for Kubota tractors have to genuine Kubota as can't get pattern parts. I sure when I come to sell my Kubota it will sell for the same money I paid if not more. I paid a good price by luck really but since buying it I've wen various others of the same or next model down going for a fair bit more than I paid. The L series is one of the older models with the L meaning large. It's not a big tractor but fairly big for a compact it's same model nick mentioned L2201 it's a import but the uk model L245 is more or less exactly the same so no problem getting parts etc. it has all I need. UK spec PTO (be carefull imports PTO run wrong way anti clockwise) diff lock, split brakes, creeper box (will pull anything albeit verry slowly) well made 3pt linkage. The only thing it doesn't have that newer machines do is hydraullic coupling at the rear for tipping trailer etc although I plan getting this sorted soon.
Stick with the better known compacts & you won't go wrong I would t go near a chiniese tractor after looking into them. As been said I think it verry suspect that a few lads on here start slating siromer & someone from there pops up saying how great they are evn though everyone who has owned one has a different story

Does your Kubota feel very unstable?------My L3200 does. Even considered using the seat belt
Does your knee keep touching the horn button? --Mine does
Does the step bend when you mount the tractor? -- Mine does
Are the lift arms weak? --Mine are
Do they have round head bolts for height adjustment? -- Mine does (nothing to grip when turning the nut)
If you have a snow blade does it have a tiny lift range? -- Mine does. (On uneven ground it either digs in or doesn't rise enough.(maddening)
Does the snow blade protrude so far that turning area required is just stupid?.--- Mine does
Does your seat have a nice little hollow where water sits?-- Mine does
Is the little fuel filter paper element ridiculously over priced?-- Mine was
Is the fan belt adjustment easily accessible? -- Mine's not
No doubt I'll find more things to moan about with time.
Back on to using the MF 35 at the moment and it's a joy compared that other tin can.

My Dad bought a new Siromer 204s 4wd much to my dismay, about 8 Years ago (guessing a bit), it was definately in the region of £4500 new , they have used and abused it over the years and the biggest complaint I heard was the starter motor was a bit hard to replace as supply was obsolete, nothing much else has stopped it . We have just updated it with a 30 hp Kubota 4wd , both were new with a rops bar and tipping trailer spool, the new Kubota was £11250 plus the dreaded, time will tell , but there must be an argument for them as good value on light uses at less than half the money !

A few years ago I rebuilt a 2004 204S that had been scraped because of failing parts, it was left outside then for eight years and I should have scrapped it as it wasn't just the weather damage, there were parts made wrongly so no wonder it died as would have cost more than it was worth to put right, but I ploughed on and had help from Siromer UK, I have restored Veteran, Vintage cars and tractors and exhibited at shows (did show the 204 and got a lot of interest) with many awards not just for the looks of but also for making obsolete parts to go world wide, so I know when I see some as we say here the Wrong'uns and just had the first run in with UK parts supplier sending rusty filled oil filter, luckily could have fitted it but noticed some bit that looks like a coverup and have had feed back from other people, so am hanging onto this bit as few people would believe they would send such rubbish out.

Not quite relevant but I once had a set of service exchange injectors for a LandRover 2.5 from the [long defunct] Lucas Service UK workshop at Aberystwyth. They were cleaned on the outside but one look into the fuel port holes would have made it obvious that they were full of bright orange rust gunge, as if they had laid in a tank of water for at least three months. They obviously hadn't even attempted to test them let alone recondition them. All they did was clean the outside. Absolute disgrace and totally dishonest workshop they had and I soon learnt that the workshop manager was notorious for his 'couldn't care less' attitude and shoddy work which was reflected by the rest of the staff.

Buy a good reputable brand from a good reputable dealer which both give long term backup, not from some Noddy vendors of here-today-gone-tomorrow cheap-jack brands.

Thats what I found out about a replacement injector pump was sent already seized and cost of time and money sorting it you are out of pocket before starting the repair. and didn't believe what I was told until I got the oil filter, as if fitted all that muck would have gone through the bearings.

You've not discovered a filter that could replace the Chinese one from a mainstream manufacturer?

Well it was a little worse as there are three different filters that supposedly fit the 204 and was told the old Chinese long red filters were superseded with I can say a better looking one, it fitted but loose ish on the thread and two weeks ago ordered one of the same part no and got one the same but with an extra i at the end of part number and didn't fit so they Siromer UK said I needed a conversion to fit off the shelf filters found anywhere? that I thought hurray and sent the wrong'uns back and got the conversion that were the old long red ones and the filter mounting part same as the original that's on the tractor, so with that part I am going to our truck lads that have seen and done it, like a lot of Chinese parts its an imperial thread 16tpi and recon its 1/2inch BSP but haven't looked yet, any how its a simple fix to turn up a two stage threaded insert so could take any filter thread.

Update, filter threads, the long original red filter thread is 3/4''inch X 16 TPI thats is standard 3/4 UNF the one they said was supposedly a replacement that sort of fitted had a 20 MM X 1.5 pitch so metric fine and the others I sent back just a bit larger but not much, when I get time will see whats easily available of good quality that ether fits without modifying or the fix to use whatever.
