66 hour week. Most normal farm workers will do 50+? But then they don't get a house. I'd say if the position comes with house then sounds fine to me. It really depends on the working conditions. Good facilities will make the job less tiring. No way should herdsman be on call for calvings that would be too much I think. Otherwise I don't see a problem as others have said - take it or leave it. Plus you've got holiday like everyone else.

Don't want to be hard on a new member but doesn't seem like a job I'd want if I had to go away from self employment!
4:30 am start is bound to be 4:15 at the latest to have a drink and powder ones nose, until 12:30, then back in at 3:15 til half six?

Seen too many herdsmen do those kind of hours, think the industry needs to change and take more care of its workers. No wonder there's so many mental health issues in farming and a lack of young people wanting to enter the industry.
