Ive got both a 3m and 4m in the yard that haven't done any work for approx 5 yrs if anyone was interested.. although after doing some rather wet ploughing today I'm wondering reading this thread whether or not one may become useful in the spring.

Hi

I worked for Skh and was a welderthen foreman then production controller i am happy to try to answer any questions

I note one member says they dont work on straw they did procide straw tines

The front rollers were slotted ond were welded to the plates through the slot that why they are difficult to get off however a good man with oxy acetelete should be able to get them off and weld new ones on if you can get them

The front roller was done on a jig with hydraulic rams the teeth were cut on a press tool then bent it had to be twisted with s bar by hand it kept you fit we used a tool with an LShape cut in it on a big piece of heavy tube we twisted it along its length in about 3 places the hydraulic rams then pushed it into place one worker lost the top of his finger on the jig it wasnt guarded it couldnt be

I was more into the welding and fabrication i thought that the bearings were standard then fitted into the castings

I am happy to try to answer any questions

You mentioned earlier in your post that a stubble tine/point was produced I dont suppose by a slim chance you have a picture of it or can remember what it looked like please. As I cannot find anybody that remembers them.
