Got a bit of hay to make on some land away from home but every time I get there usually got a flat tyre on the hay bob . Thinking of making some skids instead of wheels . Am I wasting my time ?

Probably, have you got the correct spec ply tyres. Dad had a habit of just getting barrow style tires for ours which punctured like nothing. When we put much higher ply tyres on the punctures have reduced to one a year

I’ll have a look but there is a lot of blackthorn and I think that’s half the trouble

Had a Lely Gemini years ago Was on steel wheels that were never any problem except they rattled but would skid round corners without pushing the tyre off the rim. Upgraded to haybob and wished It was on them too.

Skids will wear out eventually. But yes no reason why it won't work .

Trouble with expanding foam is getting the right amount in too much will probably rip the tyre .

Just stick some OKO type gunge in them to seal any punctures
