I find spraying and fert pretty easy. Just fill up and follow tramlines at roughly right speed. Ploughing and sowing require driving in straight lines which i struggle with.

With all the gps accuracy now, even straight lines are a simple task compared to my grandads era [emoji6] (not a fan of gps by the way, but a fair few seem to rely on it now)

Getting land ready for destoners is a good one. Knowing what needs doing in order to help them get along quicker, pulling wet bits up a couple of days before, not screwing round on the headlands leaving ruts for them to turn in, discing any rougher bits before the subsoiler and keeping just enough infront of 8 of them but not too far incase it rains. Driving is the easy bit IMO

I would say the skill lies in when using a machine you are at it, running the machine at full capacity without ragging it or blocking it up but you are using it's full potential, while having a keen eye and ear and noticing immediately when there's a problem, regular maintenance also keeps things checked.

Speaking as an ex ag engineer I would say a good operator is worth his weight in gold, they can save the owners vast sums of cash with simple regular maintenance & knowing when to stop, more importantly when to get help rather than wading in.
On the other hand a point & steer pedal to the metal merchant can very quickly drain profits.
