270 ha mixed farm seeks a tractor/combine driver and general farm worker to join a small family run team. We milk 110 pedigree British Friesian cows, calving all year round and supplying quality milk to a local cheese maker. All calves are reared on as either dairy replacements, or to be sold as stores at around 24 months old.
We also have approximately 140 ha of arable cropping comprising barley, wheat and beans, as well as some environmental stewardship. Virtually all field work is carried out using own farm staff and modern, well-maintained equipment. The applicant’s role will be varied and ideally include most machine tasks including combining, grass and maize silage operations, hay making including baling, hedge trimming, drilling and JCB telehandler operation.
The candidate will also be required to assist with routine livestock tasks, fencing and general farm maintenance.
PA1/PA2, workshop skills and chainsaw experience would be an advantage.
A permanent, employed position with regular time off, in a desirable location only 3 miles from the centre of Bath, a 3-bedroom cottage in the village is available for a rent of £25.00 per month. There is a large choice of good primary and secondary schools within easy reach as well as many local employment opportunities for the candidates partner if required. Age of the candidate is less important than the ability to complete work to the required standard and work on own initiative.
Pay Dependent on experience Hours 45 per week plus overtime
