I do not need to know why this poster has chosen to change his user name. It is none of my business.

I post purely because I wonder at the logic of every post he has made now showing that it is made by a new member - phillipe. Yet when somebody has quoted one of his posts it shows the quote as being by skinnyhoskins. What is the purpose of this? Until I worked out what had happened it was confusing to be suddenly confronted with a post a year old being attributed to a "New Member".

It's off topic though?

Plenty other things non ag related being discussed.

Was never a problem talking about BFF.
As has been stated ad infinitum, it always goes further and therefore it will be moderated. The comments moderated invariably lead to comments about personnel issues either here or linked to postings elsewhere.

I do not intend to continue the discussion but I will say I PM'd SH about a load of rubbish he wrote about me personally and got a three letter reply.

It comes across like TFF doesn't like competition, which going by clives other posts with regards to tractors and chemicals he wants a free market open to everyone.

I'll leave it at that. It's his forum and I've learned and gained a lot from it.

I never mentioned sh.

You didn’t mention SH but the OP and the whole post that you commented on did.

Clive posted an answer on this thread. I’ve responded.

Speaking for myself, I wish that the management and moderators here and the management and moderators over at the other place would be locked in a room for an evening, given a keg of beer and left to sort out their differences.

This squabbling leading to separate forums is not in the wider members interests.

As far as I’m aware there is absolutely no squabbling between the managements.
We set up ‘the place that cannot be mentioned’ purely because a few people requested us to do so.
I / we bear no bad feeling towards TFF or it’s members

We set up the other place purely as a friendly place for people to chat - as they felt their freedom of speech was being limited on here.

I wish TFF all the success in the future, and I don’t see the other place as a competitor to it at all, just an alternative.
I’d be more than happy if people were members in both forums, and enjoyed their time on each.

Hopefully Clive and Chris feel the same.

I have absolutely no issue with any other ag forums existence. There have always been other ag forums some of which long predate TFF. Most do seem to have slightly more constructive things to say beyond how shite TFF is and how badly run it is etc though !

However I think anyone with any sense would understand why I would not wish to promote other forums ! How often do you see an advert for Farmers Gaurdian in Farmers Weekly ? And would you promote another competing farmer / contractor or business with your own business ? Maybe some nice signs on your tractors or trailer ? ..... thought not ! And if that competitor had been set up by a disgruntled ex employee you had just had to dismiss for gross misconduct ?

We have acted correctly and professionally and with appropriate descression throughout our recent issue with an employee. We have turned the other cheek and not commented or been dragged down to the level of some who frankly only have a some what biased and “imaginative “version of the “facts” to base their opinion upon and maybe shocked if they ever did know everything that really went on behind the scenes at TFF. Over a pint I’m happy to tell anyone what really happened but that kind of discussion has no place online

It’s a bit sad to see people clearly thirsty for blood, wanting to see a pointless fight online over serious matters that are private and affect the lives of individuals. It’s also a bit naive of some to think that we could do anything without very good reason or following correct procedure in this modern day minefield of employment law. I’m pretty confident that if placed in the same situation with an employee anyone would have had no choice but to have followed the course of action that we did

Following professional advice to protect ALL involved I made it clear from the start that this matter was not appropriate for discussion on TFF and that will not change. This is a farming forum and not a bitching mums net forum to facilitate kangaroo courts or witch hunts for the gossip hungry amongst us !

Right - thread closed as nothing positive will come from this, move on and go post some stuff about farming ! I'm quite sure the vast majority of TFF users are as bored of it all as we are
