Skippy scout is a software platform which is an app on your phone. It uses a drone to scout your fields and gives you analysis back in the form of a PDF document. All automated so you don't have to fly yourselfGo one then, someone has to ask....... What is a Skippy Scout?

So who buys the drone?Skippy scout is a software platform which is an app on your phone. It uses a drone to scout your fields and gives you analysis back in the form of a PDF document. All automated so you don't have to fly yourself
You buy the drone and the subscription to the software and then it flies itself to the designated points you pick.So who buys the drone?
Who flys it over private property?
What does it analyse?
You still have to be on the edge of the field currentlyWithout crop walking, I'd never leave me house for months at a time.
I live life on the edge! You still have to be on the edge of the field currently
Can it be used on grassland? If it can count plants, can it be programmed to count sheep?! Considering getting a drone anywayIt analyses different stuff depending on crop type but broadly it will give you: GAI readings, plant counts at early stages, pest damage, unhealthy crop. in other words it shows you areas where you might want to have a closer look.
We have thought about it however its difficult to do when the sheep move! Can it be used on grassland? If it can count plants, can it be programmed to count sheep?! Considering getting a drone anyway
Mavic 2 pro/ mavic 2 zoom/ mavic air 2 (not the air 2s) are the three I would recommend at this current timeIs there a particular drone that is required?
It does at the moment however this could be changing in the near future! and when I say flies itself I mean the app will take the drone to each point and then fly itself home, you don't have to touch the controls whilst its completing its mission. I do see your point however and we are hoping in the future it will all be automated!Drone needs to be in sight of the pilot at all times though, so not exactly fair to say it “flies itself” is it?
this could be changing in the near future
absolutely! they are the lowest risk drone you can buy! full of failsafe's and tech to mitigate the risks of flying. also they are small and compact meaning in the case of a malfunction they shouldn't cause much damage. we will see how things change over the coming years however!Really? Can’t see that applying to leisure quality drones of the type you’re recommending - can you?
“Near future” would imply it’s already being planned in legislation though - is it?absolutely! they are the lowest risk drone you can buy! full of failsafe's and tech to mitigate the risks of flying. also they are small and compact meaning in the case of a malfunction they shouldn't cause much damage. we will see how things change over the coming years however!
