Farming WILL survive . Until the global population can get their supply of calories needed to survive from elsewhere other than fields/ animals etc us farmers do not have much problem. Technically the only problem we have is the rules and regulations in our own countries compared to elsewhere either undercutting our products with products that may not be produced so ethically.

Here's an article to accompany it ~

Of course, there will be a chorus of "Farmers asked for it by voting Leave!", but farming people were lied to by very sophisticated operators.
Yes, thankfully many managed to ignore the lies of the remain campaign and voted to leave.
I and those that i know are happy with the result.
At least today farmers have government that is democratically accountable for agricultural policy.

Does the present government or any of the other parties have a policy that will increase food production?
I don't think they do?

The EU has always had a long term view, the problem it had was it was economically inefficient but kept people on the land. Add in Net Zero and the only way is to cut production in the short term!

the thing is ,every developed country are throwing their farmers under the bus in the pursuit of net zero ,wtf is food going to come from if every goverment fecks their farming industry
Net zero is just a con to make the super rich even richer and the poor even poorer and for the super rich to control the poor just like the Covid Bollox was about!

A lot of land in one kind of fallow or another and many crops EXTREMELY patchy and late spring sowing (but that doesnt bother me on my land so much)
The way things went at lambing, well i dont want another one of those, If one is wavering about sheep, it was enough to put you off, and the young ones hardly like livestock anyway. As said in other places, produce just for YOUR profit and existance and bugger the Gov and Public untill they realise where THEIR food comes from and pay for it

Increasing prices will increase production, that's how the market works.
no one will be doing sfi if wheat goes back to £300.
There really isn't any need for doom mongering all the time

Increasing production now would be a bad thing , the less the better , less for more is better than more for less .
This. But it doesn't always feel good to know that for farming to really work someone needs to be hungry.

One of my grandfathers sayings was "If you have a dozen eggs and a dozen customers you need to break an egg"

I think it will be along time before anyone goes hungry but i dont think government encouraging production would be a good idea , it didnt end well the last time for us .
