Do you have the rubber matting on top of your slats ?
Do you have the rubber matting on top of your slats ?
I will try putting in a kerb and see if it helps.I will be most grateful if it does and sick as a pig that no one told me earlierI thought you "should" put floors level and a kerb to hold a lair of water to your reception pit?
a sloped floor would result in no water being under the slurry to transport it?
a while bag I suggested a completely slopeing floor and it was dismissed for these reasons.
similarly why a long slurry passage is level with dams rather than continuous slope.
Defo worth a go !I will try putting in a kerb and see if it helps.I will be most grateful if it does and sick as a pig that no one told me earlier
iN 180 FOOT long how many mixing points will i need ? i was hoping one either end or will need to get the pump into th middle when emptying ?
Good idea I think you need a sunday run to scotland to give my shed plans the once over !You could put a pump at one end and run a pipe back into the channels, all concreted in, and pump slurry out at one end and pump it back in half way down. That’s what we’re doing at that job you came to. Pump can be used to pump into a tower as well in future

I was mixing about 150 foot with 2 pumps, one in opposite corners.iN 180 FOOT long how many mixing points will i need ? i was hoping one either end or will need to get the pump into th middle when emptying ?
i dont think i will be rubber matting these slats as going to be cubical s so no need really ?Mixing points in the middle could be handy, but if you end up matting the shed you would need to be carefully running on them to get to mixing point
If no plan to mat the row of slats I would put a central mixing point in at that length, might not need it, but will be alot easier than trying to fit one lateri dont think i will be rubber matting these slats as going to be cubical s so no need really ?
No, but it is on the very long want list!Do you have the rubber matting on top of your slats ?
The more expensive things become the longer that list gets !No, but it is on the very long want list!
What ist ? a frog ?View attachment 712048 this wee chap must of been living in the lump that we struggle to mix, slurry gas must not bother them, he spent ages hanging on in-between a slat
The farther down the list they get!!The more expensive things become the longer that list gets !
It's a mouse.What ist ? a frog ?
Do any of you lads use the paddle type mixers that will drop through and gap on the slats anywhere on the shed? I’ve a mate that made one out of a topper gearbox and some box section for paddles he says it works brilliantly

Thanks thats good to know, everyone says thee same so i think they will be essential.I have comfort Mats on all my slats and I thoroughly recommend them. Cattle certainly seem to like them.
