SLEEPER WALL UPRIGHTS NEEDED !

Hello Again.
We want to build 2 walls approx 12 mtrs length x 2 mtrs high out of horizontal Oak Sleepers ( needs to look nice as its for Weddings on the Farm) Can anyone think of anything cheaper than RSJs to use as uprights ?

We had a price for Galvanised RSJs . Was 2k for a 20 mtr fence ( Sleepers are 2.5 long ) Can you suggest a supplier pls

We thought about that but Sleepers are 2.5 and would only leave 50 cms in ground. Would that be enough ?

Interlink the joints as you would with bricks and bolt them together with 6” Timberlock screws, no need for pre drilling. Batter back slightly, particularly if retaining any weight. I’ve photos of some I’ve done somewhere if you’re interested.

Ah yes. Only issue is we don't want any gaps. Have some very nosey neighbours who are total NIMBYS !

Youd still have the metal work there to support it on the back hidden from the venue's view

2m tall, you'd want RSJs that are circa 2.6 - 2.9m long depending on the load they are to hold.
Would think that you'd get your galvanized uprights for around £120 each depending on how big the web is for the sleepers.
Easy enough to cover the steel face with timber cladding. Would look tidy.

Yes that's correct. Think I put 2.5 . We're putting them horizontally though.

Just want a heavy duty screen. The neighbours ( Horses and jobs in the City) have CCTV Cameras directed onto our land. They're also on the Parish Council. We're trying to get a Barn , well you can fill in the dots......
