sleeves came out with injectors in Leyland 272

I have been talking to someone who is overhauling the engine in a Leyland 272 and he told me when he tried to remove injectors the sleeves came out, is this normal??

I dont think its unusual, but much more info is available on the "Leyland Nuffield BMC tractor" message board.

Yes they can as injector will be seized in the sleeve

On a slight tangent, I've found a decent 4/98 engine from a Leyland 262 and wondered if it would be a straight swap for the 4/65 in my Nuffield. I figured it would keep the Nuffield going while I worked on its engine which needs rebuilding. Does anyone know how they compare?

More or less a bolt in job.You wont want to go back the the 3.8 engine though!
