Sliding Gate for Cattle Crush

Just seen this whilst searching for sliding gates for a cattle crush. Searching various forums has shown that Kellfri have a reputation for lower quality products - although these were reviews of more complex machinery.
I've got a small suckler herd and this seems better value than anything else I've seen so far on the market.

Anything for me to look out for or be aware of? I had a preference for bi-fold gates but I think cost will be prohibitive.

Thanks.

Have someone local make a diamond tipping gate out of 30x30 box and tube

Might have to go down that road. May have to try to find some plans for doing a bi-fold. I had hoped to look at the one from MEP Cattle Crowder, but unfortunately they are not making them any more. IAE and Bateman do them too, but their price s beyond my budget.

I have looked at your gate a few times JP. Only 'problem' that I'd have is that for putting sheep/lambs up for dosing they might try to squeeze under the gap and open it out on someone. Is there a latch on it @JP1 to prevent a cow kicking out and springing it open?

Is there any reason as to why not to put the vet access gate before the back gate? Due to the layout, there will be a steel 7' back from the head gate - I had planned on putting the back gate there and placing the vet gate behind. Vet gate would then swing inwards blocking off the race if access was needed to rear of animal.
However, I've been told it would be better to have vet gate ahead of the back gate. That would make the crush longer than I want. I've looked at my plans and I think it will be fine -

Ideally a bi-fold gate would be the best solution - I'm currently thinking of getting an old slam head gate and using it instead - just need one that holds itself fully open within the crush. It would have the bonus of allowing me to put a cow through in the opposite direction to access that side if needed.

No good for lambs or small cows but the diamond means you keep the flow going with cows one in one out etc

Vet gate in mine shown

Both have an anti-luce to secure if required

@JP1 I've commented on your thread about it it - it's a fine and well made system. All the best with it.
Did you get the mover finished?
