Slow or uneven emergence after rain

Anyone else getting this , wheat drilled a fortnight ago and has been rained on constantly, I guess soil temp has been cooled a lot

Yes, very slow. Cold soil and herbicide washed down (where we could get the pre ems on) would be my guess too.

Likely delayed due to cold and wet. Pre-em damage possible but it never concerned me and I used to use some pretty hideous mixtures.

Some of my headlands are very soggy after the rain we’ve had, and I’m wondering if some of it’s rotting in the ground .

Most probably.. some of mine is. Just the worst timing for torrential rain, straight after drilling

Drilled into perfect conditions 14 days ago rolled and then pre ems. 95mm of rain 48h after and very patchy emergence where the fields lay wet.

Drilled fantastic. But Same here now cold wet soggy rotting & pre em causing slow patch emergence.

11 to 14 days to emerge this year slowest growth for years at this time of year

we did purposely drill. Bit deeper
some treated seed last drill no seed treatment

I was blaming it on the over-yeared seed I have been using

When the pre em gets washes in to the seed depth that’s when I’ve had the cleanest crops. So fingers crossed the wheat makes it.

Slugs making an appearance here, if it's not one thing it's another, was worried about our home saved dressed seed from last year but drilled a field with half that seed and half bought in new seed from this year and the old seed has come through two days before the new.

Sent our homesaved for a germination test, germination around 95% but they said it was slow to germinate around 14 days.
