Anyone else's ewes really slow going to the tup this year?

only running 4 ewes this year due to a few changes, so obviously im watching these four a lot closer than last years 200. But the tups been in 9 days and only one has been to the tup, Not panicking yet but they do seem fat and haven't been tight at all this year so haven't been flushed at all as the grass just hasn't stopped here.

With only four it probably just seems slow, with 200 you were probably getting 10 or more some days and surely there;s a chance they could be spread out over a Cpl of weeks depending when the started cycling, probably the other three will all come on at the same time on day 13:whistle:

My small flock of 12 was slow, after 19 days he had served 1 ewe :banghead: then served the other 11 on days 20-24  Was beginning to get worried then they all came along like busses :D

Our Rams have been out with 1100 ewes for almost a week and not one marked.

But that's probably because we haven't raddled the Rams! I'm sure most of them will end up in lamb at some point....

You joker, you . Are you bored stuck in the house in the wind - 70 mph gusts and 50+ average here at mo plus rain (again).

Been tb testing all day. It's not been too bad up until now but it's pretty rough now. Hardly call it a hurricane though. Probably worse to come. Stay safe everyone.

If I only had 4 ewes to lamb, I would definitely have sponged them to get them out of the way. For the sake of £8, you’ll be pee’ing about for several weeks, or losing one when you don’t look at them that night.:(

My (teased) March lambers seem to be taking the tup very quickly, so it looks like we’ll have a busy week, then dries and drabs for a fortnight, before settling into the April flock.
April lambing lot look desperate for attention from the teasers, so looks like they’ll take quickly too.:)

Around 45% of the march lambers were served in the first 4 days, their in tomorrow to have a correct count and pull the marked ewes out and into their own lots for week 1 of lambing, sweepers will be put in also.

No teasers used, no flushing as such. If I had under 100 I think I'd sponge them like @neilo says. We find it far easier to lamb 6-700 in a month than 60-90 over 2 months!

Had 344 ewes tupped out of a mob of 350 in first week here that had been with teasers. Ewes without teasers nearly all tupped in last week and nothing in first fortnight.

I know i should of sponged them! but just didn't have the time due to other commitments.

Was talking to my brother couple days ago about it,he sponges most of his ewes and he had a few going spare:facepalm:.

next year i will be a little more focused and less going on so then i be able to sponge them. hopefully by then i will have acquired a few more
