Slug pellet spreading

Just wondered how wide people are managing to spread the current generation of slug pellets with Stocks type spinning disc applicators? Sluxx and others are a tiny pellet compared to old metaldehyde products and I’m not finding they spread any more than 12 metres. This is without any wind and using a supposed 24 metre spreader. Do other combinations of product/applicator spread any better?

I have always found Trigger to be really good mini pellets to spread 24 metres. They give a good even spread as long as it isn't too windy. Used some Attract yesterday & had to spread at 12 metres as they are much smaller & don't travel very far even in still conditions. Use a Stocks spreader on a quad bike set at 3000 RPM.

Agree on the Trigger as that is what we have been mainly using. It seems like a big step backwards to have to go much narrower and also have to wait for optimimum wind conditions.

I spread Sluxx at 18m at full disc speed with a Fan Jet Pro Plus. Suits 36m tramlines. If it’s windy and I need to get on I’ll drop back to 12m.

Older generation pellets were ok at 15m for 30m tramlines but not the really cheapo minis.

Been spreading today with a FJ Pro. Easily achieving 24m but as we are 36m tramlines we just spread at 18m.
