Quite simply is Ferric Phosphate as good as Metaldahyde for killing slugs?

its better - I've not used meta here for 9 years now, my slug problem has (almost) gone

I dont think meta fixes anything, just seems to postpone issues

I have found Derex the best value - yes the Slux has more bait points but its also costs more and for some reason I never seemed to get as good result with the lower rate (which in theory gave the same # of bait points)

Agrii, but was told by another company that they couldnt beat it

i guessed it might be, you need to step away from that fire !!! temps you i wit a few good prices and then stings as soon as it sees a chance !

looks like FMP beats it by miles and I don't think the FMP price is over special either from what my agronomist tells me

Both by Certis but i think different formulation, sluxx seem to last longer

never noticed a difference myself - in fact I have always rated the Derex better, what's really been interesting is seeing the qty we use drop every year, not sure if thats to do with pellet choice or if its the reduction in insecticide use and better consolidation of zero-till - probably a bit of everything I guess

I expect in reality there is no very little or no difference for the same bait points per m and we all just see what we think we see

Price is my main driver, really cant afford to pay over the odds for anything these days and differences between suppliers can be shocking ones they get "comfortable" with you !!

I think both are made by Certis ? - only difference is colour and size plus who they are all sold via ;)

Is Derrex a dry formulation pellet but SLuxx a wet process pellet. The former would likley be less rain tolerant. If so then there would be a price difference. But as I am not registered for farm market place have not checked the brand names of the two products but as ever helpful to know if one is truly comparing like with like. Cheers.
