What are you finding the best long lasting pellets are now we have lost methiocarb. Spread the last of mine about 4weeks ago and can still find the odd pellet but where i used allure i think they only lasted 3 days.

Have had metarex amba in the past which seemed to last well but at 4% its a bit of a one hit product now. Also had prowler which i didn't think where too bad but did think the spinning disc damaged them a bit.

I like the MAUK Gusto / Enzo pellets. The Allure must have changed I think this year - last year I agree the pellets were carp and lasted no time, but a recent batch of them I spread for someone else were more like the hard Enzo ones and seem to have lasted longer, so not sure if they have changed how they are made. Pesta H also good. I think there is a thread about slug pellets on this board from times gone by.

That's very strange for Prowler ??

The slugs now have their own HSE, which mandate them all to wear PPE. The slugs come out, collect up the pellets, pack them back into 15kg bags, spread a little jokeshop slime on the surface to fool us into them dying a bit, then sell the bags for cash. They eat their fill of wheat, then use the cash to nip off to Teneriffe over winter, then come back here for spring oilseed rape / pea time. They have pensions and a union now. Clever buggers.

TDS Major 4% Metaldehyde I have found the best for years now!
Spread some Gusto's last week and they seemed a good pellet with a nice throw!
Condors are the cheapest I've spread and I've had them wash away/dissolve in the rain after 12days!

Don't go by the cheapest!
There was a spreading and dissolving chart in a paper in the last few months? Farmers Guide or Farm Contractor?!?

+1 for TDS Major but the met aldehyde loading is a bit heavy for my liking so I tend to use a lot of 1.5% Appeal which seem to last well and hold up reasonably well after a modest amount of rainfall. Not cheap but guess you get what you pay for (most of the time!)
