Slugs

Dd'd spring Wht into Wht stubble few weeks ago with 750a. Went really well. Slot closed even on heavy ground. Now slots have opened as ground has contracted, and each slot is rammed full of slugs. Because the ground is tight, the only access downwards is via the slot made by the drill.
Pellets don't seem to be doing any good as why should slug come out of slot into sun and wind? Better for him to stay there and munch wheat seed!!!

Most of what we thought was our reasonable rape has virtually disappeared in the last 2 warm days. This is what I found last night, 3 or 4 slugs on every little plant. Again, I have pelleted but they seem to prefer the sparse vegetation...

+1 - then monitor over the weekend and treat with a good quality wet process pellet if needed.

Dont look now. Slugs everywhere after this shower. I had pressed some fallow land and decided to pellet it before the light rain we got - it is now like a scene of carnage.
