Any views on the Conor dribble bar?
There all over priced. I guess there having the 4k of grant money for themselves
I’ve got a conor trailing shoe for last 5 years its grand but it doesn’t like bales silage hence I’m changing it for a belmac dribble bar there maserator is a lot better for baled silage and cheaper recondition

Belmacs macerator looks like a copy of the Mastek one so it has to be good!
I don’t hear too many positive comments on the vogelsang macerator and the springs that lose their tension after a lot of work. Think the Conor db is called farm pro they also sell another type can’t recall the make.

Yes it’s made by same company that made mastek macerator

Kme are making dbs and tankers now as well. Some choice now in fairness but I see the cost of tanks have risen again over the last 2 years. I recall pricing a 2500k gallon galvanised Belmac with db retailing at 30k euro with 800 bkts, site glass etc. Same one now has gone up 3k since then. If that’s belmacs price you can be sure some of the others are 5k more hitting 40k

Your right ,the belmac has the same macerator as the master but with heavier cutting teeth different vents and fed from the top,the vogelsang macerator is mainly a distributer and in other countries they are coupled with a high fibre macerator, not that suitable for irish slurry ,

A lot of manufacturers have jumped up 7 or 8 grand , 2500 with db at 33000 sounds good value where are you based

What macerator on the conor ,it's possible to fit a belmac macerator on your tank ,also we are looking into rebuilding vogelsang with rotary cutters similar to belmac

Wouldn't it be easier and more cost effective to macerate everything before it got into the tanker?
Have maybe a separate pit to transfer "treated" slurry into?

Think the macerator works like a distributor as well though to get the slurry into 2 inch pipes

Do slurry bug products help break down lumps or are their main selling point they make agitation easier ?
slurrysol and envirosystems to name two
