Slurry tanker dribble bar

It seems the pigs are outside the sheds, not inside. Why the feck would you throw all plastic crap and whatever in the slurry? I can see why the odd bit of balertwine or netwrap could make it's way to the slurry but what kind of a idiot are you to just throw it in?

Piggery I draw from has new owners now, but the previous one had staff that simply didn’t give a f***
It’s been with other owners now for probably about 15 years and it’s only within this last two or so I’ve stopped finding stuff in the slurry.

I did have a couple of bad days last year where polystyrene insulation had got into a tank. It very nearly did make me rage quit I will admit.

I hope it is but, I’ve never seen any other 9m bars to know for sure.

And yes mastek has agreed to put in stiffer springs, so hopefully that will fix the problem.

Yeah, which is why I think it’s mainly a problem with only 9m bars. A bit of testing on masteks part should have found that out. Although it’s not just the extended bit pulling it back, even when the dribble bar is down, it isn’t able to push the bar the whole way back.

Colin if ur set with the 8m one go with it, I haven’t come across anyone else who has had this problem. And once the new springs are in it should be good.

To be fair I didn’t even know they did a 9m door mounted version, the website lists 7, 7.5 and 8m.

Do you use it without gps and can you see the last lines 4.5m to the side easily enough?

Yeah I can see it fine, just adjust the mirror to the last few end pipes and I can see the last line of slurry from the previous run.

I think they stopped doing the 9m version.

I bought a new 8 metre Mastek before Christmas and it looks a nice bit of kit on my Hispec tanker. I understand that Mastek have designed the macerator with sand in mind as mine will have to deal with sand but hopefully the internal stirrer will help a little.
I had asked a few guys with dribble bars and the Mastek was the one that I was advised to buy. Unfortunately the dribble bar hasn't been used yet.

if your looking a 9m dribble bar have a look at the Moore bro engineering. Savage machine. Tidiest best made dribble bar on the market.

Any less then 9m in a dribble bar is a waste of time. You at least want to be taking the width of the splash plate. A Narrow dribble bar is more passes in the field. And driving faster. In hilly or wet ground it’s a nightmare. Next tanker I get I’ll have 10.5m. I’ve seen mastek dribble bar up close and I wasn’t impressed with it. MBE is far superior

Yep. We have a trailing shoe. Stays in the shed.
Used it few years but it was slower than splash plate and no growth difference in same field.

What rate were you putting on and what size was it?

Left side was tanker and splash plate at 3000 gallon/ac,on the right was trailing shoe at the same rate.

I found the opposite this spring that the splash plate grew better

Only thing that matters are cutters and plates, how would hardox and hardox get on against each other?

Yes all cow slurry, the dribble bar actually put on more slurry as it was the first field i used it for and took a while to get onto application rates vs the plate
