Yep apparently so, because of this fantastic calendar farming, what happens is every man and his dog is out spreading slurry on the 30th getting as much out as possible, basically flooding the land.Does the land change its biological makeup over night then on the 30th
I thought that as from 1/10/ no one could spread anything with a slurry tanker on arable land.Or is the rule for one and not the rest of us.

Whereas if the date was put in place as and when it was needed, people could be more sensible with their slurry.
But what do I know...
Completely agree unless, you're in a flat field in january that's going to be ploughed the next week for example with no rain forecast. Theres always exceptions which is why I hate calendar farmingYep, it used to be like that of course, the problem was some weren't sensible with their slurry, so rules were made. Happens with lots of things.
It is a bit silly to be spreading fertiliser outside of the growing season though don't you think?
