Slurry tanker

Has anyone moved from a single axle to a larger twin axle slurry tanker?.... How are you finding they travel in field compared to single axle. Looking to increase capacity... like the idea of the 750/60/30.5 over the 710/50/26.5....hi spec do an r range with these as standard... currently have a 2400 major on 800/32

Iv got single axle nc here. Will be last single axle tanker i ever own. Couldnt sit in tractor along the road and 2 years ago axle cracked only friend was behind me and got me stopped in time before it completely snapped of and nc wasnt interested in coverin any of the cost. No more nc stuf here again

Na 2000 and it had the 10 stud commercial axel and no of contractor that had tandem axel ncs and was havin same problem cause 1 broke at end of our lane last spring and he said that was third axel he had broke on nc tankers

Can’t speak for NC but a true commercial axle shouldn’t be breaking on a 2000.

Our old 2000 nc had a stepped/ cut axle which I don't like the idea of. Our major has a proper com axle in it....never been any bother

Ours was a straight axle. Was adr axle and it broke where stub axle is welded onto box section which in my opinion is total joke not havin solid steel bar instead of box section holdin that weight. Should also add our tractors are all 40k so not excessive speed involved

Not a true commercial axle then. Surprised at that.

Moved from a 2600g Ruscon 5 years ago to a 3500g Major tandem. The tandem is on 710/50/26.5 and travels surprisingly well in the field, and much more stable to tow on the road. With a steering axle, wider wheels will reduce the amount of steer you have, I felt 710's were a good compromise. Although a 30.5 wheel would be easier to pull in the field in iffy conditions. I've found that if you hit a mucky spot, with surface water, 26.5's tend to trail, but those are place you really shouldn't be!

Moved from a 2500 single axle to a 3000 tandem on 650/55/26.5 which aren't big enough to be honest. Have just ordered a new tandem axle on 800/60/32s which should travel in pretty much all conditions hopefully. Wouldn't even consider one without steering

What make of tanker have you ordered if you don't mind me asking? 3000 again or bigger?

Ordered another joskin, will be around 3300g with the recesses taken out. Should be here around the end of January hopefully if you want to come and have a look at it

I know someone else that happend to. Going around roundabout and axle broke.

Mate of mine had one that cracked at the front of the tank where it's attached to the drawbar as well as breaking the axle luckily his broke in the yard.

Mate of mine had one that cracked at the front of the tank where it's attached to the drawbar as well as breaking the axle luckily his broke in the yard.

There has been a few tankers locally here that have left the back axle behind them on the road. Not NC in this case though.

Our major is on a granning axle.... Looks well on top of the job....have a rolland trailer on the same axles. There's 10 stud axles and 10 stud commercial axles..... Very different things!
