I've tried them a few times
I really want them to work but cant get them to work as of yet

Max time they could be in lagoon here is about 2-3 months through winter

I pumped out last week and doubled doses the pit with what was left in it so will see what happens
I will top up every few days for a while too to give the best chance🤷‍♂️
What brand are you using?

id love to see my lagoon bubbling away like you guys
Cant see why
What you bedding with and disinfectant using
Footbathing are you dosing the same tank your foot bath empties into was always told better to do other tanks also parlour washings they wont affect slurry full of bugs but trying to start then off in a tank like that is going to be hard

200000gal lagoon edit 800 cube
120 cattle
approx 35-40 kgs of chopped straw goes in every day from cubicles
in any 1 lagoon full of slurry could be 30-40 liters formalin

we had a ahole from EA, we were 'legal', but he couldn't reconcile our lagoon size, with his aerial photo, and absolute ##########. Been quiet for several months now, but no 'result' to say we are ok or not. All coming from blocked council drains.
What we did do, was sought out all our gutters etc, and for the first time, we are not looking at our lagoon, and wonder if it will last, till 15 jan, now will probably last till june/july !!! So perhaps all the crap, might just have been ok. We have non NVZ land, as well.
On one side, you have contractors saying get as much water in, as you can, so it will pump out easier, and the EA saying keep water out. Now what we don't know, is how thick that slurry, in the lagoon is, will it pump, or top fill, or will we have to spreader it out. Hence interest in bugs.

In on crustbuster from envirosystems
Pumped out last Thursday
about 150 cube left in pit
2 pots added when pump pulled out and mixer still going
Will top up every few days
Pumped out 16/12
No action in the lagoon 11 days later

The only thing I have noticed is a few bubbles where the beet washings go into the lagoon

But that area was bubbling away a bit before the lagoon was pumped out 🤷‍♂️

Had the slats for 11 years, never used any bugs
Last winter there was 12 - 18 inches of froth on the top of the slurry. Pain in the arse, it was up through the slats when there should have been another month`s storage
This winter no froth at all

Never did figure out what caused the froth

Next time you stir throw in a sack or two of hydrated lime. Or any high calcium lime. Feeds your microbes.
I'd chuck a bit in throughout the winter. Always did this at home and seldom ever added bugs or such to the lagoon.

Trying bioDigest from Calvin kave IMG_20220102_115348665.jpg through a recommendation, as we usually use some form in our tower. It's working out about 3x dearer than The usual we use- epizym slurry king IMG_20220102_120139719.jpg
Put 4 drums in tower Nov 15 when we first pumped across from the lagoon. And one drum into reception lagoon as a top up next time around and got one spare ( enough to treat 380,000 gal.

some bubbles soon after .
IMG_20220102_115032380.jpgnothing of any note in the reception lagoon (been emptied now into tower 3 times )
